I learned basic German: speaking, reading, and writing.

This course helped me improve my German skills significantly. I'm not afraid to read in German now!

I learned all the necessary skills to improve my German and get to intermediate German feeling confident.

We spent a lot of the semester on grammar and sentence structure, as well as the cases (Akkusativ, Dativ, Nominativ, Genetiv) and the tenses.

I learned a variety of skills regarding grammar, vocab, and most critically, pronunciation!

Learnt all the cases in German- nom, dat,gen,akk cemented further vocal and introduced new elements in our writing such as writing in the narrative past and relative clauses.

We learned a lot of vocab and grammar to use in everyday conversations

I learned several new things, all of which are essential in continuing the study of German at the elementary level. Grammatical concepts, such as tenses (perfekt, plusquamperfekt, futur, präterium, etc.), subordinating conjuctions and relative clauses, adjectival agreement with gender, number, and case of noun, uses of dative and genitive cases, reflexive verbs. As for vocabulary, we touched on topics like health, childhood, food, fairy tales, transportation, geography, and other culture- related words. Much of our time was spent on cultural activities, learning about media and culture in Austria and Switzerland.

I simply think the language classes are too fast paced, but based on the amount of time given and what they are expected to go over, I find that there is little room from change.

While I love learning German and Maiken is one of the best professors I've had, German seems to be a bit harder than other languages.
