There were two exams a midterm and a final (noncumulative) these were online and between 50-75 multiple choice questions. It was basically like can you apply these concepts....no trick questions. A small super light-weight partner project and basically weekly discussion posts. Attendance was also tracked, but not factored into our grade. However I think she has a decent idea of whos attending class and whos not. A 8ish question short answer style HW sheet that took no more than 1.5 hours to do (if even that)....that was every 2 weeks or so. Super light-weight imo.

Not light, not heavy. Normal, I think. 8 short answer HW assignments on lectures, which she records and uploads. One discussion board post on a reading each week. 1 MC open-note online midterm, 1 MC open-note online final, 1 final group project which she grades very easily. All weighted around ~20%, most even split I've seen. Generous late policy: she allows you to submit HW up to 24h late until you start losing points.

She was great. I'm an Economics major and needed to fulfill a requirement and this class was perfect. Not only is the content interesting and relevant to basically just living life, but she is a great professor. Super smart, caring, and just willing to help her students. I would recommend this class to anyone trying to fill a requirement, take a chill class, learn about relationships, experiences, etc, or just needing some additional credits for a semester. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO take the corresponding lab...which is a major plus! Take her!!!!! (I would also take her again for nearly any other class she is teaching because she was that fab)

This was my first psych class and it motivated me to major in psych. Prof Turetsky is an absolute angel who deserves the world. She's sweet and great at lecturing. She makes even the most stupid questions seem relevant and intelligent - that's how kind she is. Content is very interesting.

Wonderful class. Prof. Turetsky is an amazing professor and teaches the content very well. Every day I was excited to go to her class and hear her talk about psychological concepts. She is very welcoming and engaging. I like that she really tries to engage the class by doing these quick non-graded "what do you think" questions. This was the class that made me want to become a psychology major. Very generous grader and the exams were very chill. She gives a study guide of what you should review and a practice quiz for every exam. (these exams are MCQ). There is no extra credit but I think she grades generously on the project. I ended with an A+ in the class and did not have to do much work. I didn't score 100s on the HW as well.

Workload lighter than average. 1 midterm, 1 final both open note. 8 homeworks, the lowest is dropped. weekly discussion posts based on the readings. 1 applications project

Professor Turetsky is genuinely one of the best professors I've had at Barnard. She manages to clearly and effectively communicate complex subject matter. She's an engaging lecturer, and assigns interesting studies/podcasts for our homework, rather than just a dry textbook. Her assessments are comprehensive and fair, and her project gets you to actually apply the material we learned. There was a fair bit of work involved in this course, but it never felt super overwhelming and felt useful/helpful rather than just busy work. She is always so prepared and clear about assignments, grading standards, etc. This class is useful not just for psych majors, but also for people going into business, marketing, etc. I loved it and would highly recommend it!
