Ensemble theory (classical and quantum), phase transitions (with a strong focus on the Ising model and critical exponents).
Overview of thermodynamics and classical and quantum entropy, statistical ensembles, and phase transitions. The second half the course leaned a lot towards condensed matter, but all interesting and useful stuff.

TBH I always hated stat mech but I hate it less now and think it's cool.
I would not recommend this course to a student who does not work in condensed matter theory.
Helpful if you've seen some grad level condensed matter theory before, though not necessary.
