GERM UN1101 · Fall 2022

I learned a remarkable amount of German and how to communicate effectively through both writing and speaking. Professor Parks teaches the class very practically instead just resorting to whatever the textbook has to say.

GERM UN1101 · Fall 2022

This course taught me a lot about the German language. I learned a lot about German vocabulary, but more importantly learned a lot about how to use German grammar, for example different cases (accusative, dative, nominative, etc.) and use gendered nouns and pronouns. From a beginner's point of view, this course gives one a very solid understanding of conversational German and allows one to continue learning German.

GERM UN1101 · Fall 2022

As with any language course, you are exposed to a new culture and way of thinking in a more intimate way than can otherwise be gained (outside of actually visiting and immersing oneself within the culture and people). We learn all the things that come with a language: grammar, the social implications, pronunciation, and comprehension. We also learned some slang words, something that is often overlooked within academic language courses, but plays an important role in being able to effectively integrate and communicate naturally with native German speakers.
