The class is good because you can practice Korean. The written assignments are long but doable. The oral exam is forgiving and accommodating. Korean language and culture - speaking, reading, writing

I learned various vocabulary terms, how to conjugate, Korean culture, and just the language (speaking, writing, reading, etc.) in general.

I developed my Korean speaking, writing, and reading comprehension abilities. I learned a lot of relevant vocabulary and grammar. Through the readings and class conversations, I learned how to converse in Korean to talk about relevant/current topics. I also learned a lot more about traditional Korean culture (Korean holidays, historical figures, folktales, etc.) that I had not been exposed to much as a Korean-American.

As a heritage speakers class, it's fun to have the chance to hear from others who are picking up Korean as a Korean-American. Professor Chung helps facilitate interesting and fun group discussions. I always looked forward to going to class and always felt comfortable there, even if my Korean is not the best.

While I came in with a strong speaking background, my writing and grammar skills were severely lacking. This course equipped me with the adequate skills to write and use proper grammar structures and overall strengthen my korean.

Improve korean speaking and writing skills, learn about korean culture and history as well.

While the course is a 5 point workload, the amount of material and content that I was able to learn and process was made easy through Professor Chung who taught the course in a way to make hard concepts understandably and simple to follow.
