2 midterms, 1 final, a bunch of quizzes, PSETs, recitation attendance

Recitation attendance, homework problem sets, 2 midterms, weekly quizzes, and a final all contribute to your overall grade. The problem sets are super time consuming, but are what made me understand the material. Expect to start the problem sets early and attend TA office hours. I spent anywhere from 3 hours to 10 on each problem set. Grading is fair, especially on midterms (you get partial credit for work shown).

This class has a reputation for being difficult, and it really lived up to the reputation. Prof. Youngren is a really nice guy, but he just talks so fast and some of the important things he says out loud aren't on the slides and I feel like he assumes we know more stuff than I actually do, which made for extremely extremely confusing lectures. I legit stopped attending lectures and just started studying the lecture notes and recitation problems. However, the grading for exams is really really lenient, which I really appreciated. The PSETs were also extremely hard so I went to the help room every week (Afifia was amazing!).

I knew this class would be challenging, especially as I had not taken Calculus 3 (only took AP Calculus BC, though many of my peers had taken both). So, the beginning was rough. Professor Youngren definitely moves really fast -- he also kind of glossed over information about basic vectors and other foundational topics that others already knew. However, he teaches thoroughly and is fair. There were many resources that were available to me in this class too. With some hard work and attending lectures, I truly believe getting a good grade in this class and deeply understanding the material is attainable.

Homework - The homework is quite difficult with weekly problem sets with about 5 questions that take around 5-10 hours. Quizzes - Biweekly quizzes which are super short and easy mainly as a way to just test the concept Midterms(2x) - Midterms are significantly easier than the homework, very doable in the timeframe. Final - Barely longer than a midterm with similar difficulty

Professor Youngren is an excellent, organized, and caring teacher. While the class is challenging, his teaching style makes it much easier to understand the material. He creates his own resources for lectures and uses visual aids to illustrate concepts, which is incredibly helpful. Professor Youngren is truly dedicated and always makes time for his students, whether during office hours or even outside of them. He is also very active on Ed Discussion, where he does his best to assist everyone. The course is supported by a team of TAs and CAs who are great at helping with homework and ensuring students understand the material. His lecture recordings are a lifesaver if you miss something during class. Additionally, he holds review sessions before exams and patiently answers all questions, often explaining the same concept multiple times until it clicks. To succeed, make sure to attend lectures and recitations, review the material, complete homework and recitation problems, and make use of help rooms and office hours. Overall, Professor Youngren is an amazing instructor who genuinely cares about his students and their success in the course.

Professor Youngren is a passionate, energetic, and overall excellent teacher. His lectures are never dull, and he explains concepts in a way that allows you to theoretically and spatially understand why everything is true. Professor Youngren uses his personally developed modeling software called 3Demos to visually represent the curves, and it is a great tool to use to understand the concepts. His slides are very well made, interactive, and do a great job in teaching concepts. Overall, Professor Youngren is amazing and will teach you so much throughout the semester.

The workload and grading are fair. Problem set of ~5 questions and a quiz of ~4 questions per week.
