I was able to develop my skills in mathematics through understanding basics of calculus. We studied functions, derivatives, integration and various techniques for their solving that called on general principles that I had learned in previous mathematics courses that I have taken.

I learned about calculating basic equations and functions, derivatives and integrals. These were the same concepts taught to me in AP Calculus AB in high school but the way of teaching those same concepts was very different and the examples were more difficult.
Lectures are very confusing and strange, I learned all materials by myself.
As an auditor, I refreshed my knowledge of the basics of abstract algebra, groups and their varieties, and to some extent how they can be used -- for example, to investigate problems in geometry. I did not complete the course. If an auditor or student does not do all the assignments it becomes very difficult to follow subsequent lectures. The professor (properly) warns the students of this!
