9 Homeworks x 1 % Each = 9 % 8 Quizzes x 2 % Each = 16 % 2 Midterms x 20 % Each = 40 % 1 Final x 35 % Each = 35 % Homeworks can be long but again they're completion. They're typically 10-20 problems from the corresponding chapter in the textbook. I recommend actually doing the first half of the problems (going up to question 40 or so) then just speeding through the rest, because they get really hard, time-consuming, and abstract and don't teach you anything important for the class. He is nice, but there was an incident on the second midterm where he wrote a question wrong and then took of 2/3 of my points on the question because I didn't answer it in the 2 ways he thought were right (even though I clearly did that on the test and even asked him during the midterm). I ended up trying some other weird approach which didn't work, and he penalized me a lot for it, which I thought was really unfair, given I tried it using the correct approach but couldn't get a valid answer because the question was written wrong. However, it all came out fine in the end because the curve on the midterms was crazy (first midterm I got 9 points back and second midterm I got like 20 points back). The final also had a nice curve. He also ended up dropping lowest quiz (pretty easy and take-home) and even weighted the lower midterm score down. He also made the A+ threshold 95 and above. TLDR: Hard class…
Super quiet but sweet teacher. He explains the concepts very thoroughly and slowly - which made learning the material not that hard. His teaching style was just going through his notes (posted on Canvas) on the chalkboard. However, it does get difficult when you apply his concepts; the problems on the exams are difficult applications of the simple concepts you learn in class. Also, the homework is like 70% useless. It's completion, so not stress-inducing, but a lot of the problems are super abstract or complicated or just dumb. The best review for the exams is just going through the practice exams he posts. Actually these practice exams were 80% identical to the exams, so they're definitely where you should put your time.

Although I had taken AP Calculus BC in high school, this course served as a valuable and necessary review. Despite my previous background, there were still topics that challenged me, and I felt that the class was structured in a way that deepened my understanding of calculus concepts. We built progressively from limits to derivatives, applications of derivatives, and finally integrals. The weekly homework and quizzes helped reinforce the material and develop my analytical and problem- solving skills. The emphasis on learning from mistakes, especially with the help of exam curves, allowed me to focus on growth rather than perfection.
