French · Columbia University
I learned and developed active command of French. I acquired the four language skills-- listening, speaking, reading, and writing (and some cultural context as well).
In this incredibly fast paced course, I learned a lot about the structure of the french language, grammar, and vocabular.
I learned basic introduction greetings, weather, the numbers, the alphabet, general classroom and home objects, the rooms and floors in a house, verbs, restaurant/food vocabulary, and passé composé (past tense).
I learned a reasonable amount of French for a first semester, I think.
I feel I have gained a fairly good grasp of elementary french including oral and reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar.
Professor Annie Schultz is great at answering questions and very approachable! Very nice!
Most students, myself included, were only taking the class because it fulfills a requirement, and the curriculum for all French I classes is the same. But I would recommend this instructor to another student.
I think the class moves to quickly, and it is impossible to learn all of the material well, in the time allotted. 1 Columbia University: Arts & Sciences Fall 2022 Course: FRENUN1101_005_2022_3-ELEMENTARYFRENCHI : FRENUN1101_005_2022_3 - ELEMENTARY FRENCH I Instructor: Annie Schultz
