Basics of Calculus, the same as Calculus AB in high school
In this class you learn the basics of calculus and even some precalculus.
The things I learned were on my own rather than from the course. The instructor goes way too fast in class that you ultimately have to do a lot of studying on your ow to understand the material. And do not join this class if you are weak in math and care about your GPA. There is absolutely no curve.
Most importantly, how to think logically and in a mathematical manner. More literally, I learned about continuity, limits, the limit definition of a derivative, derivative rules (chain rule, quotient rule, product rule, etc.) antiderivatives, summation notation, Riemann Sums, indefinite and definite integrals, area under a curve and some integration rules.
I learned calculus. Everything from derivatives and anti derivatives to related rates.
I gained an understanding of Calculus I.
This was a very helpful course for me, especially as a GS student who hadn't taken a math course in a long time. The way the class was taught and homework was assigned allowed us to first be introduced to new concepts in class and go over multiple examples during lecture; then we got the chance to practice by ourselves on homework assignments. Coming to the end of the term, I feel like I have a solid foundation of the basics of calculus. This course has not been easy, but it has been fair and allowed me to learn a lot, which I really appreciate.
I learned the fundamental theorem of calculus.
I had already taken Calculus I before this course and really just used it as a review for what I might have forgotten. I do think that I got a better understanding of how certain topics related to one another and Professor Sengupta does a good job at explaining the full concept before teaching any shortcut approaches.
