I learned how to interpret religious texts from a feminist perspective.
I gained a lot of critical reading skills from this class, particularly in learning how to close-read texts that have been widely accepted as truth for centuries. I learned about the typical classifications that make a woman a "nasty woman", and I also gained a new knowledge about translations and the impact they can have on our understanding of history and truth.
I learned about the subjectivity of historical documents and the way women are depicted as nasty for going against the oppressive status quo
