I was exposed to a variety of perspectives and arguments on globalization and its effects. Although the name of this course suggests that it is a general class on international political economy, the class was mostly concerned about the process of globalization and its effects, and international political economy is a framework through which globalization is analyzed.

The benefits and drawbacks of globalisation, which I had only ever previously encountered as a beneficial thing. The course also gave me a thorough understanding of the way globalisation disproportionately affects developing countries compared to developed countries, and why.
This course has been one of the most enriching experiences during my time at Columbia University. Additionally, I have learned to synthesize information from multiple readings to communicate arguments clearly and coherently. The course has also enhanced my ability to engage in political debates by listening attentively and expressing my perspectives respectfully and rationally. Perhaps most significantly, I have improved my writing, adopting a clear and concise style while strengthening my ability to synthesize and present information effectively.
