3 exams, 1 seminar reflection, 1 in class presentation. with each exam, we are allowed to redo the same exact exam at home. the grade you receive for the take home is worth 10% of your exam grade

Pretty difficult - i found prof hill to be extremely sweet and kind but the content was extremely hard to follow at times. often, the in class lectures and slides didn't correlate with the exam material. the exams would ask a lot of application based questions and i feel as though we didn't have much practice with those type of questions and material during class time. do not take this class if you also have other hard science classes. this class is challenging and you need to make sure you have the time to engage with the material.

3 unit exams (not cumulative, 25% each), 10% of each exam grade is take-home portion (copy of exact same exam), 15% Journal article worksheets (not very difficult), 5% Journal article presentation (low stakes, do not stress), 5% research seminar summary (low stakes, attend a neuro research seminar and do a short write up answering a few questions), I think Prof. Hill is a very fair grader! If you study, you'll be fine. Geniunely!

Professor Hill is such a wonderful lady, oh my goodness! This content is very difficult, but she does all that she can to ensure that students are able to grasp the material. She has some in-class worksheets and activities that I actually found quite helpful. She does not rush through the material and will pause for any questions. She was incredibly encouraging. She records the videos and posts her lecture slides online. She is pretty flexible with office hours. Tests are pretty fair. There is, at times, some tricky wording, but ultimately, I found the exams pretty straightforward. She answers questions during the exam, if you have them. I would encourage people to take any class with her, if possible. I have never had a class where the same exam is taken home for homework/credit...I was a bit apprehensive at first, but working through your own mistakes is so valuable in truly learning these complex concepts.

3 exams (not cumulative) each worth 25%. For each exam we did the same exam as a take-home which counted for 10% of the exam grade and the in person counted as 90% - but the take-home ends up only adding like 1 point to the exam grade. 1 group journal article presentation worth 5%, a neuroscience seminar reflection (super easy just have to attend a seminar and write a 1 page summary, also 5%), then about 7-8 journal article worksheets where you had to read the article and then answer questions in a worksheet (worth 15%).

I was nervous going into this class but Professor Hill is very nice and really cares about her students. The material is definitely confusing and difficult, and I often felt like lectures made me more confused, so watching videos and going to office hours was probably the most helpful. The tests weren't too bad, but the wording of some questions was unclear and made the tests unnecessarily difficult. Despite the frustrating exams, prof Hill is a great professor and I would definitely recommend her.

LOVE LOVE LOVE HER!!! Great prof she is so sweet omg, I was lowkey nervous for this class as i'd heard it was difficult, but I managed to get perfect scores on the exams (not bc the content is easy, but she's just that good at explaining the concepts). Cannot say enough good things about her, her teaching style emphasizes making sure you understand the content, and she's very available to talk about the concepts outside of class if you're struggling. Would take every class with her if I could.
