At least the workload was light. 3 homework assignments, a take-home midterm, and a take-home final. I have no idea what the grading is like because this was a fall semester class and as of January 8th, nobody has a single grade in from the class. Genuinely not worth the stress of not knowing ANYTHING about your grade.
Meant to be a basic finance intro class, I think, but I’m not even sure. The class was very disorganized and most lectures consisted of the professor just talking about random stuff related to Wall Street. If you already know all this stuff, it’s actually very interesting since this guy has a ton of experience, and is also a very kind and passionate guy, but there is 0 structure. SOME notes are posted on Canvas? Sort of? But they’re never published so you can’t access them. Classes are meant to focus on a given topic but spiral out of control very quickly. Worst of all, we are now nearly at the start of the next semester and not only have final grades not been published, but not a single homework or test grade has even been published. If you’re a financial engineering major, you have no choice but everyone else, stay away. Take IEOR accounting in finance in the spring instead.
