Two quizzes (10% each of final course grade), one final group project (20% of final course grade), 4 homework assignments (15% each)
Amazing professor! He explains concepts clearly, and his lectures are recorded (although class participation can push you up to the next letter grade, not attending class will not penalize you if you review the lecture recordings; only a few classes were required). In every lecture, he stimulates class participation (e.g., asks questions to the class) and makes class engaging. Homework assignments were fair (there are, however, a FEW parts throughout the assignments that may be a bit more challenging). The homework assignments make you apply what you learn in class. The two quizzes (both in-person; one in mid October, the other on the last day of classes) are also fair. The final group project is very fun. You choose your own group for the project, and your group can choose their own security-related topic to focus on. It's very open-ended, and Professor Zimmeck provides you with guidance as you work on your proposal. Your group will also present your project to the whole class during the week before the last day of classes. I would 100% recommend taking Security I with Professor Zimmeck.
