Reasonable workload. Assignments were fairly easy.

Michelle Levine · 2024 · 2024

Weekly 2 discussion posts (each ~300 words), 3 assignments and one semester long project in groups of 2-3. many hours a week on the project

Iddo Drori · 2020 · 2020

1 to 2 DL competitions Deep Learning Project Time spent on this class could range from 0hrs/week to 10hrs/week depends on your end goal(publication or no publication?)

Alexandr Andoni · 2025 · 2025

There were 5 hard (but fair) assignments, one take-home midterm, and one final project (in groups of 3, which was a survey/research of algorithms papers in a field of your choosing)

Hugh Thomas · 2025 · 2025

We had four homework assignments (50%), then a “fifth” one that was our team project (40%), then attendance with 4 allowed excused absences (10%). The four homeworks involved implementing smaller apps in Swift using XCode – basic Storyboard implementations, editable table view with accompanying detail views, usage of an API to display data in a table, and usage of the MapKit to implement a Map that shows data form an API. For the team project, we had to come up with a project idea to make in Swift, program it, then make a video presenting it. It was admittedly intensive for the time we had to work on it and I admittedly would have preferred some of the time for the homeworks instead being allotted to working on the final project (similarly to User Interface Design). Additionally, the time to work on the milestones (along the lines of coming up with ideas/features, creating a MVP, creating the full app, final touch ups) felt a bit lopsided. Then, the last two milestones definitely took longer than the first two, but all four only had an allotted week. Beyond that, I thought it was a very doable class to get an A (or even A+) in!

Bernard Yee · 2008 · 2008

a lot of written work (which was never graded or returned to us...), a semester long project (your game...)

Henning Schulzrinne · 2009 · 2009

The labs took way to much time without giving much back. There were no proper instructions and even though the TA was very helpful it still did not work very well. I would have thought that we would just play around with VoIP equipment but it was more an exercice in testing 12 different features on say 4 different phones and over UDP and TCP rendering 12x4x4x2 cases to implement and test.

Roxana Geambasu · 2017 · 2017

4 large programming assignments, each taking 3 weeks and 15-30 hours per assignment

German Creamer · 2009 · 2009

7 of 8 Homeworks counted for grade. Each Homework was due approximately fortnightly. Each homework required 4-5 hours of work. 1 midterm and 1 final.

Knarig Arabshian · 2011 · 2011

Not too intense, but a lot of self teaching, as the lectures were largely inadequate.
