In this class I learn about patents, regulatory law, and contract law. Since the sole reason I wanted to take this class in the first place was to learn about patent, this class offered so much more than what I expect to get.

A really good course to take for students who wish to know about patent.
It was a very interesting class that made me think differently. The basics of patent, contract, and regulatory laws as is relevant to biotechnology. Controversial and/or significant past and current events that are relevant to biotechnology laws. Reading and articulating in detail.
Great course to get introduced to aspects of patent law, regulatory law, and contract law in the setting of biotechnology and overall understanding how these interact with one another. The professor is very clear in how he delivers the content, and there isn't much that is missing from the material provided in lectures that translates to the only two types of deliverables -- two midterm exams and a final research paper.
I learned so much about patent law, contract law, and several other topics in the legal field that I had never been exposed to before as a STEM major. It was refreshing to have a course focused more on the law and business side of science.
I learned a lot about the basics of patent law, regulatory law, and contract law as they relate to the biotechnology field. As someone who is in the lab full time, this sort of industry knowledge was exciting.
The general requirements for patents in the biotechnology space; the importance of language in drafting, prosecuting, and construing patents/applications and their claims; actions/instances that may lead to patent litigation; the overall process of federal regulatory approval and litigation w.r.t. small molecule drugs, generic drugs, biologics, and biosimilars; the overall requirements, functions, and common types of biotechnology-related contracts.
In this class, I was able to learn about patents, contracts, clinical trials, and regulatory processes in regards to both drugs and biologics.
