Learned a lot about the theory of the research model and biology and the appropriate ways to apply concepts and technologies towards it. Also learned how to write an NIH R21 grant and some of the processes that happen behind critiquing grant proposals and etc.
This course is a fantastic overview of the most exciting and important concepts in modern systems approaches to biology. Highly recommend if you are interested in systems level biology and computational approaches in answering biological questions.

I learned a lot about how systems biology has changed over time and it really helped me view my own research from a new perspective.
Anyone taking this course will learn a wide range of topics within systems biology as well as gain and apply skills in research proposal writing and critiquing.
Not much, since the lectures were not extremely engaging. However, doing the proposal was extremely helpful and had great intellectual value.
The course focuses on grant-writing and scientific discourse.
