I received a broad overview of research done in the Biological Sciences department. I learnt about research that I usually would not engage with.

This class is a great introduction to the department and the research being conducted. It was extremely helpful in picking my second rotation and giving me ideas for my third.

What each of the faculty in our department are currently working on

I did not achieve/learn what I wanted to with this course. I wanted to get a greater sense of what work is ongoing in labs concerned with Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Structural Biology. Only a handful speakers in this interest area presented, and I had already met with those I was interested in rotating with before their presentations. PRS did not help me find anyone to rotate with.

I learned of the general work of the faculty of our department.

For most students with significant post-baccalaureate experience, and/or a concrete understanding of the direction they want to take their career, I don't think this class is a productive use of time.
