Developmental Biology · Biological Sciences
In this course, I learned how humans develop from pre fertilization to adults and the numerous biological mechanisms that contribute to this process.
developmental biology and related research in the field
human development on a molecular and macro level
Development of cells into specified cell types, including applications to stem cell research. Development of whole organisms from fertilization to adulthood and the science of youth and aging.
-Modern advancements in stem cell research -Common research techniques employed in stem cell research -Cellular signaling events/molecules in the context of developmental biology -Embryonic development stages
I learned a lot about how human and animal bodies are created either outside or inside the mother. I learned about key developmental processes and mechanisms such as fate mapping, and applied them to relevant modern research and case studies.
so much about development! I can't name it all. Most of all that timing and location are important!
The wonderful world of developmental biology! Stem cells, embryology, reproduction/fertilization, epigenetics, gastrulation, artificial methods, and more. Plus, reading articles and understanding the science in real world applications.
This class is very difficult to get a grade of B+ or higher.
Highly recommend! True this was not the easiest course but I enjoyed it a lot and found myself very engaged with every single lecture. Developmental biology covers such intriguing new areas of science from stem cells to embryology and really gives you insight to where we come from, how we're made, and what makes us the human beings we are today. I recommend this course to someone who is interested in going deeper than the basics that biology teaches you about development and reproductions, to someone who is interested in research like investigating the potential of stem cells, and to someone who is interested in all clinical applications (because dev bio roots can be found in any medical field! Many treatments are for dev bio issues/conditions)
