VERY EASY, he is very chill when it comes to assignments and they are not hard at all MAX 30 minutes. Our "final" was a review/opinion piece that could be any length as long as it covered what was asked in the prompt thoroughly + we had any and all notes available to us.

Prof. Guido is wonderful. He does tend to go on tangents and does spend more time covering news then I think he means to but you can tell he really knows this industry and has so much knowledge to provide. Highly recommend office hours too to discuss anything and everything.

The class has 1 200-word response that's incredibly easy an MBA student could do it with their eyes closed and their laptop half shattered. The other only "assignment" is the final class where half the class role plays a pharma company and half the class role plays the FDA.

Ron is so pookie <3 Every class is like tuning into a podcast episode on pharma, he spends the first half of class going over recent developments in the industry (most of which are way ahead of the normal news cycles so idk how he gets his hands on this info) He lectures pretty softly though so it can be difficult to hear unless you sit in the very front, and honestly the lectures aren't super structured (I don't think we got through all the content we were supposed to) I would view this class more as a pharma seminar rather than a how to get your drug approved class. Ron certainly covers aspects of the approval process and has amazing anecdotes from his vast pharma experience, but this class will not prepare you to sit down and draft an IND. It will however, let you know that one exists, things to consider when you are drafting an IND, and also other cool things happening in pharma right now. Definitely take this class if you are even remotely interested in pharma and 100% take the class if you just want to learn more about the pharma industry in general.

The workload was really light. You're told to read the first 4 chapters of the tb and some random articles but that's not really necessary. He assigns 3 continuous assessments which were really easy and straight forward. They do help you understand and think more critically about the pharmaceutical industry. The last class is also when he splits the class into two sides (the FDA and drug company) and holds a mock meeting between the two over some made up drug issue.

Ron is an extremely nice guy but the class was boring. It was only two hours a week but it was literally 2 straight hours of boring powerpoint slides about drug development and regulation. He tries to be funny and it is really endearing but there really isn't any way to make the material engaging. The class was also basically all biotech grad students and some phD students. With that being said, Ron does know the material really well and is well versed on the ins and outs of the pharmaceutical industry. He also is really friendly and is happy to talk to any student. It's easy to do well in this class but you should be ready to be bored for two hours.
