Participation (25%), Concert Report (35% of class grade), Two Discussion Board Posts on Courseworks (20%), Final Project (20%) Concert report is just your thoughts on two classical/jazz/etc. concerts during the semester and the final is a slideshow timeline about 3-4 composers with any theme you want.

With no participation and an average amount of work for the concert report and final I got an A+ in the class. He clearly doesn't enjoy teaching this class which makes it more boring, but at least it wasn't difficult.

One concert report, one discussion post, one final project/presentation (pick a theme and three composers to talk about)

Super kind, sometimes soft-spoken when lecturing… but super passionate about music! Show up, be engaged (sometimes he plays the piano) and you’ll probably end up with an A or A+. Never had to take notes because he has no exams — I honestly really appreciated getting to just sit and listen to music for 75 minutes.

Attend at least 2 concerts throughout the semester. 1 concert report, and a 5 minute final presentation which is incredibly easy.

Easy class, great Professor. Got an A+, which sweetens the deal of course. Ryan's a great Professor and is really passionate about helping everyone find their passions within the musical realm. 10/10 would recommend — somebody give this guy a golden nugget. He's earned it.

I think I spend 10 hours the whole semester on this course.

I'm a big fan of music -- just not the music that Ryan Pratt covered. Nevertheless, Ryan is a super nice guy and gave me an A+ which is all I cared about anyway.

My first time writing a review because I want to say this is by far the best professor you can have. If you lucky enough to be assigned to him, stay with him. Very kind, flexible and understanding professor. Makes sure you know what you are learning and does not have a focus on grade (which to me made the class much more engaging). All students got A and A+'s I believe.
