Professor and TA, they are so amazing. They taught me so much about how to improve assignments. Every time, they put a lot of effort into helping students.

I gained a broad understanding of the field of sociology.

I learned more about sociology and society, especially American society, and its intersections with various issues. I also learned how to apply these concepts to my everyday life as someone who has intersecting identities.

We learned about various sociological concepts and thinkers that can be applied to different institutions and social aspects of our society.

I learned about how sociology impacts everyone no matter where they are from and their background. I also learned important sociological terms like collective memory, institutions, and different types of capital. This class is very skewed politically to the left, if that's not your thing, it might be a bit rough.

This class pretty much teaches you how to write and speak in a very specific way. The whole point of the class is to make you agree with a perception of the world which is mostly backed by anecdotes and personal experiences. Most of the literature is just people creating definitions and defending it through their perspective, which is not wrong or bad but creates a risk of circular citation and understanding.

I think I learned a great amount about sociology as a discipline but also such a versatility in matters of public health and ethics as well.

I learned a wide variety of sociological concepts, and was able to read a large spectrum of different sociologists.
