20 percent HWs, 40 percent midterm, 40 percent final. The median on the midterm and final was about 92 to 93 percent. Exams are super easy with extra credit opportunities with on time submissions of homeworks and extra problems on the exam which are easy as well. This class is extremely easy if Myers is teaching it!

Weekly problem sets. Some quite easy, a bit tougher toward the end. Almost all problems from book. 1 Midterm. No direct statics questions. Most test problems drawn from the two HW's immediately preceding the test Final: He tells you what's on it.

She is the easiest professor one can receive for Solids. She goes step by step and does not assume previous knowledge most times. Class is systematic and has a clear flow. Objectives and expectations are clear and very reasonable. She posts her notes which are so concise yet cover everything. And she talks about her research in the class and takes examples from that and it is so inspiring and effective as it is a direct link with the concepts she is teaching. Simply put, she is amazing. Hands down one of the best professors Columbia has both in terms of teaching and research.

This class was a standard mechanics class with lectures and weekly HW, and a midterm and final that covered closely the material. It's required for Civil Engineering majors and can fulfill a req for MechE.

Deodatis is the king of clarity. He is the best teacher I've ever had at CU. In lecture, he organizes his blackboards with superb readability and logical layout. He emphasizes important points verbally and with body language. He doesn't skip "obvious" steps in examples. The first portion of the class was a statics review, and you're never directly tested on that material. He literally tells you 5/6ths of what is on the final. Late homeworks are not penalized at all. You can use an old edition of the textbook with no problems. You should go to the ends of the earth to take this class from Deodatis.

Professor Yin clearly has good intentions, but his classroom delivery needs a lot of work. His handwriting is difficult to read and his accent is hard to understand, even for a Chinese-speaking student like myself who is accustomed to accents. Nevertheless, Yin makes up for those shortcomings by being extremely passionate about teaching and ensuring that the class as a whole does well. He truly cares about students, going so far as to offer makeup exams for both midterms. His problem sets are difficult, but fair (and relatively short), and certainly do-able if you read the textbook. Attending class is essentially pointless, since the textbook for the course is all you need to pass. Class meets three times a week for 50 minutes each, which is completely idiotic and ruins everyone's Friday.

Pretty reasonable. Approximately 1 pset a week that would take a few hours, and two exams. She would also adjust deadlines if she knew weeks were heavy (since most of the class were Mechanical Engineering Juniors) and she was pretty understanding with deadlines. Occasionally psets would take a bit longer, or studying for exams would take some time, but by far one of my least stressful engineering courses. Grade breakdown: 20% HW, 40% Midterm, 40% Final -- Exams were straightforward so the large weighting wasn't overly stressful.

Standard. A weekly 3-7 question problem set, mostly out of the textbook. Homework isn't difficult and follows closely the material he covers in class. One midterm, one final, both consisting of problems that are more involved, though not much more difficult than those from homeworks.
