Pset every week, usually textbook questions. An hour to two hours. What really takes a long time are the labs every week, which you can technically finish in the three hours allotted, but there is often missing equipment, and the TAs can be lost. Lab reports are graded very generously, though. The actual course grade breakdown is not set, because DV will randomly reweight grades in what seems like an arbitrary manner to get you the highest grade.

We had 11 assignments. Some TAs graded very harshly, others not so much. Too many hours per week, don't forget about the 3 hour lab every week.

The content itself is very interesting and the textbook does a great job explaining all of it. DV, on the other hand, is not a good lecturer and the lecture notes he posts, while they can be helpful, do not follow any sort of structure. Many people will know DV from AOE and will recall he's very kind and always interested in answering people's questions. However, his passion does not compensate for his lack of structure and cohesion in teaching. He manages to make simple concepts that many students have learned in previous Physics or EE classes seem convoluted. To fully understand this course, read the textbook and do practice problems. Don't rely on lectures.

This is for the class Intro to Engineering: Wow. The only thing this course cemented in me was my hatred towards this subject. Okay, maybe I don't absolutely hate EE, however, I *hated* this class. The exams in particular were abysmal. Left my final in shambles having practically left 5/10 question blank. The class was taught terribly too. My scenario was very specific keep in mind. The typical Intro to EE professor Valancourt went on sabbatical and Ioannis Kymissis and Kenneth Shepard were assigned as our instructors. It all started okay with Ioannis, or John. In fact, his lectures were a little too easy. All he talked about were water slides. Then came the first homework... Oh what is this? This does not align whatsoever with slides from lecture. I knew it, they're using the same homework sets from the PREVIOUS SEMESTER even though the class changed professor... This lasted for three homeworks. However, they were very manageable. Then, John announced Shepard would replace him for a month. We were all ecstatic. Finally, not to hate on John (you'll see why), but hopefully this new guy is much more comprehensible. Oh were we wrong.. Shepard comes and at first he's overwhelmed by how behind we are. Then, he proceeds to "try" to hastily reteach everything we had learned in the past 3-4 weeks in ONE lecture. Kinget's a great teacher; he does a good job of explaining the material and his workload is very reasonable. The class is on a high curve, as most intro classes are. There's a weekly lab that's scheduled for 3 hours, but generally you'll finish after 1-2. The homework is reasonable, as well. There are 3 "midterms", all of which are reasonable and are on a decent curve. Review the previous years' midterms, as the ones he gives are of nearly the same format.

Professor Eleftheriadis is a very good teacher, but he tends to spend too much time teching the wrong subject. An expected lecture period will consist of fifteen minutes of EE, followed by forty-five minutes of basic algebra, such as solving a system of two equations by graphing.

Weekly: 3h labs + 2h prep/reports, 1-2h HW, 3 midterms (1 take-home), final. Lowest dropped. worst case scenario: 10h a week (lets say, before the midterm) Gading in labs isn't standartalised (some graders are harsher than others and no clear crterias).

The midterm and final were both 30%, labs were 10%, final project and mini project were 10%, homework was 10%. The class is on some kind of curve, but I dont expect it to be as generous as Vallancourt's curve. Shepard's grading was, in one word, inconsistent. On the cover of our midterm it said that minimal calculations were needed to complete the questions and that explanations of steps would be awarded partial credit, but I knew students who had questions almost completely correct and explained their thought process and received no credit for their work. The problem sets were literally impossible. Based on his shouting and illegible handwriting during lectures, we were not prepared to complete any homework assignments without some serious outside preparation. The examples in the textbook were also often not helpful. Shepard viewed these problems as easy, which is true, the calculations were usually not intense, but the thought process to get to the calculation step was long and arduous and like, not intuitive or based on what we did during class. At the beginning of the semester, when Prof. Kymissis was the instructor, the homeworks were the same ones that Vallancourt gave, and those were MUCH easier and more straightforward than Shepard's nonsense. He had to keep moving homework deadlines because people just did not know how to do them.

It is a circuits class (that you'd need only if you'll do more circuits). DV talks a lot (related AND unrelated) and the classroom is very stuffy. The lectures cover all the material but include some interruptions (not bad if for real life examples, bad if for real life stories). Self-studying is completely possible as the notes are posted, you'll just miss out on the real-life part. The lab equipment is either not working or non-existant, so something very easy takes a lot of time. BUT the music 5 mins before the class is pretty vibing.
