I learned so much about botany and systematics of plants!

I have leaned an incredible number of skills in this course. Being observant and mindful of minute but important differences in different plant species, hands on field methods, knowledge in plant systematics, the likes.

We learned a lot about plants. We learned over 150 plant species and over 50 families. In addition, we talked about morphology, evolution, and phylogenetics of plants.

I learned many things about the plant kingdom both from a systematics perspective as well as a more "natural" fieldwork perspective. You are tasked with deeply learning several plant families, their economic importance, and their identifying features. Students also have to complete an herbarium plant collection, and identify them.

EVERYTHING about plants. There are two real sections. The morphology and evolution of plants (whole plant family tree) and then there is the field botany portion (200+ species on sight, how to collect plants, how to identify plants)

Identification of the majority of the plants in our flora, a generic overview of the systematics of plant life, and plant morphology and phylogeny.

This course covers everything you could possibly want to know about botany. If you want to know more about plants, their evolutionary history, and how to identify them, this class is perfect for you. It also offered me one of the greatest learning environments I've ever had and likely ever will have. Our weekly trips out into the field brought everyone together and we all constantly had a great time learning, so much so we often forgot we weren't just friends out on a hike. There is no other class where you will learn so much while having this much fun.
