We learned how to think critically about the chemical/nutrient cyclings driving Earth's ecosystems, and in particularly their response(s) to global change.

I feel that I gained a broader understanding of the relationship between nutrient cycling, physical processes, and ecosystem function. I was able to understand ecosystem dynamics better and relate literature to what I learned.

I learned so much about ecology and how the natural processes of the world impact the environment at various scales.

This course covered broad range of topics relating to the general ecology of ecosystems, nutrient cycling, and the current state of climate change.

I learned about nutrient cycling in ecosystems, nutrient limitation for plant growth and productivity, a little about stoichiometry, and current topics on climate change.

critical thinking and intense problem solving

A lot of qualitative thinking, of course particularly in relation to ecosystems.

Provides deeper understanding of functions and mechanisms driving our ecosystem and how they are impacted by time and global change.

This is a really good overview of important ecosystem processes and very helpful for understanding how other disciplines fit into ecology.

I would definitely recommend this course to anyone with an interest in ecology. It is not by any means an "easy" class, but it is so worthwhile. I made some really good friends in this class as well.
